A place for those interested in reviving and understanding the lost food culture of Lithuania. While Russian, Polish, and Jewish foods are fairly well known, Lithuanian foods seem to have fallen off the radar, but they do exist, often disguised under Russian, Polish, or Jewish names. (This dates back to when Lithuania was under Russian rule and writing anything in Lithuanian was illegal. Only those who learned Russian were able to keep accounts, so many Lithuanian recipes were lost. And many of the recipes that do exist don't provide accurate measurements, and some are not even tested.)
