Cynthia: While I realize this is an antique book, the very title cries out for a rebuttal. And since the other articles you've selected on Australia don't exactly make the food sound sensational, I think I've got to post another piece -- to defend a country I love. (Note that my blog is titled Waltzing Australia -- which is also the name of my book -- so I've spent a fair bit of time in the land Down Under.
